Job/Position Title: Resource and Intervention Director

Reports To: Principal

Supervises: Interventionists

Hours per Week: 25-30

Job/Position Summary:

The Resource and Interventionist Director is responsible for screening students with academic concerns from their teacher. Provides students with push in/pull out resource support in their academic area of need based on their ISP/IEP. Provides strategies and materials to accommodate students with academic needs in the classroom. RTI (Response to Intervention) services may be provided to students who are struggling, but do not have an IEP/ISP. Specific intervention plans and programs are utilized with the teachers to help them to best support their students in the classroom. Provide support and suggestions for teachers in differentiating instruction and implementing accommodations required in a student's ISP/504.

Responsibilities:

  • Screening students for academic issues based on teacher concerns for K-8th grade students. Most work is done in the lower grades.

  • Provide RTI services as needed

  • Provide students with IEP/ISP resource minutes through push in/pull out Resource Support

  • Create ISP(Individual Service Plan) and 504's as needed for students from evaluations we get from D47.

  • Manage and train part time interventionists

  • Learn and implement specific program interventions, mainly in reading and writing with some math.

  • Manage student files

  • Coordinate and lead annual update meetings for ISP and 504's

  • Participate in MDEC (Multi-disciplinary Evaluation Committee) meetings with our contact from D47

  • Coordinate meetings, where teachers bring up students of concern and determine if a plan and/or classroom accommodations may be needed.

  • Coordinate and decide which students may need further evaluation through meetings with D47

  • Provide support for the teachers to guide them into how to help their students in the classroom

  • Meet with interventionists and teachers frequently to discuss student progress

  • Provide progress reports for students every trimester

  • Benchmark students every trimester and progress monitor students weekly

  • Administer MAP testing accommodations for students

  • Parent/teacher conferences

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Elementary Education and Licensed Elementary Teacher in the State of Illinois.

  • Experience as a reading or academic interventionist.

  • Reading Specialist Endorsement--preferred, but not necessary..
