Extracurricular Sports and Activities at Immanuel Crystal Lake School
Immanuel Crystal Lake School is committed to nurturing the whole child—spiritually, academically, socially, and physically. To support this mission, we offer a variety of extracurricular sports and activities for students in grades 5–8, with opportunities for grade 4 students to participate when needed to complete teams or groups.
Through these programs, students are encouraged to develop their God-given talents, learn the value of teamwork, practice Christian sportsmanship, and build lasting friendships in a Christ-centered environment.
Our offerings typically include opportunities such as:
Team sports
Individual or small-team athletics (such as Gym Kids)
Fine arts activities (such as choir, band, or musical)
Academic and interest-based clubs (such as chess club)
Service and leadership opportunities (student leadership groups, service projects, and outreach activities)
Participation is guided by our school’s academic and behavioral expectations, and coaches and activity leaders strive to model Christian character while helping students grow in skill, confidence, and responsibility.

Athletics
Immanuel Crystal Lake School offers a variety of extra-curricular sports for students in grades 5-8 and if needed 4th graders. Extra-curricular sports offered will be determined by availability of coaches and number of students. We participate in the Fox Valley Lutheran Athletic Conference. Fees must be paid before the first game. To financially support the program a participation fee will be charged. Immanuel requires a physical examination before any student participates in a sport. The physical is valid for a period of one school year. Proof of family insurance is also required.
Our coaching staff is committed to excellence on the field/court and demand excellence from their athletes as students, teammates, and Christian competitors. Winning is important - but not as important as HOW they win. An emphasis is placed on winning with humility, losing with grace, and competing with intensity and character.
The Junior Varsity (JV) level is offered for students in Grade 6 and below.
The JV level is designed to introduce the student-athlete to the game. Playing time will be close to equal over the course of an entire season, not per game.
Varsity level athletics is offered for students in Grades 7-8, occasionally adding Grade 6 as needed.
Playing time is not guaranteed. Playing time will be determined by ability, attitude, practice behavior, and game situations.
In addition to teaching young students the benefits of team play, sportsmanship, and commitment; our Varsity teams strive to qualify for the Lutheran State Tournament at the end of each season.

After School Clubs
At Immanuel Crystal Lake School, we believe learning and growing doesn’t stop when the last bell rings! Our after-school activities give students the chance to discover new talents, build friendships, and develop confidence—all in a Christ-centered environment.
Gym Kids - Preschool aged children will play games, get exercise and have fun together! (PK only)
Spanish & Spanish Jr. – Students can explore the beauty of the Spanish language and culture at age-appropriate levels, building skills that will serve them in school and beyond.(2nd-8thGrade)
Middle School Choir – Voices come together in harmony as students grow musically, worshipfully, and as a team, preparing for special performances throughout the year.(5th-8thGrade)
Chess Club – Students sharpen their minds, practice strategy, and enjoy friendly competition while learning valuable lessons in patience and problem-solving.(K-8thGrade)
Band – From beginners to advanced players, students experience the joy of making music together, developing their skills through practice and performance.(4th-8thGrade)
Chimes Choir - This program will incorporate music education to develop ringers note-reading skills, pattern recognition, rhythm, playing in an ensemble and musicianship skills. (5th-8thGrade)
Middle School Musical – A highlight of the year! Students bring stories to life on stage through acting, singing, and teamwork, building confidence and creativity in a fun, faith-filled environment. (5th-8thGrade)

Summer Camp
Every summer Immanuel Crystal Lake hosts camps designed for students age preschool through 8th grade.
Our summer programs combine engaging activities with a strong Christian foundation, helping children grow in faith, character, and confidence while they play and learn. Each session features age-appropriate camps that may include:
Volleyball
Arts and crafts
Basketball
Preschool camp
Gym Kids
Camps are led by caring, qualified staff who strive to provide a safe, encouraging environment where every child is known, valued, and loved in Christ.

Summer Care
Experience a summer that is truly memorable at Immanuel Crystal Lake Summer Care. We invite your child to join us for a safe, enjoyable, and enriching Christ-centered program designed to inspire adventure, build confidence, and foster lasting friendships in a nurturing Christian environment. Whether you choose one week or the entire summer, Immanuel Summer Care offers the ideal setting for fun, friendship, and faith.
Program Details:
Care available daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Weekly tuition: $210 per child
Ages: 3–11 (children must be toilet trained)
Program dates: May 26 – July 31 (closed the week of July 6)
Flexible week-to-week enrollment
Multi-child discount available
