Who We Are

Refuge for Women is a non-profit, faith based organization that provides long-term care for women who have escaped human trafficking or sexual exploitation. Refuge for Women is a 3-phase program that lasts up to 12 months.  A safe place has been created for residents to experience healing with few distractions. The key aspects of the Refuge for Women program are sobriety, healing from trauma, and rebuilding trust. We have locations in many cities across the U.S. including a new shelter in McHenry County, Illinois.

 What We Do

Refuge for Women offers safe housing with 24-hour-a-day staffing.  The program is designed, and staff trained, to help residents recognize their goals in life, and to assist them in reaching those goals, and facilitate healing. A resident can complete the program in 9 months and may have the opportunity for an additional 3 months of aftercare.  Our hope is for each woman to leave Refuge for Women with self-sustainability and a life marked with dignity and hope.

Immediate Need

We cannot operate and fulfill our mission of serving sexually exploited women if we don't have the staff to serve them. Refuge is really strapped at our 24/7 staffed Long Term Program Home and needs to urgently fill the Residential Shift Leader position (overnight / weekend).
